“Students need to have the basic resilience to participate and work in one way or another for their community, for their people and country. They are being trained to cultivate commitment – a spirit of wanting to contribute to their community responsively, a spirit of wanting to sacrifice, all at the same time. Currently, because there is war in our country, we are in a situation where we must educate the young generation amidst battles, amidst gunfire, amidst aerial bombings. No matter what happens, amidst difficulties and challenges, education cannot be left behind, cannot be neglected. The worse the situation becomes, the harder we must work on education, the more we must strive.”

I am someone who had to suspend my education due to political changes in the country. Now I am continuing my education at a college in an Internally Displaced Person (IDP) camp area. This college is really good for me. Since the current era is the Age of AI, it is essential to understand technology, and this school teaches technology-related subjects. However, because the Internet connection is poor, I am not getting the effective instruction I need. That’s why I have to watch the recorded videos from the online classes. I can only learn what I see and hear from those videos. In this area, it is very difficult to get a good Internet connection. If the Internet connection were better, I could learn more and gain a lot more knowledge.

However, instead of relying only on learning through the Internet, teachers and students are moving forward with our learning journey by sharing our ideas related to the content and personal experiences with each other. This enhances the students’ thinking and speaking skills and creates a better learning environment for both teachers and students. It also helps us think critically by using our own opinions.
